The Imagination

We are all called to walk a life of holiness and purity in our thoughts. The imagination can guide your actions by the power of the Holy Spirit. Do not let darkness reign in your hearts.

It all began when a beautiful angel appeared before me. He carried Father’s kindness and gentleness as he spoke to me. This beautiful messenger from heaven had short white hair and dazzling wings! He sat next to me with a smile then said, “What you see in your imagination will become your reality. If you learn to see your Father with the eyes of your heart, His world will become your world.”

Wow, Let’s unpack this a little bit.

The imagination is what we use to interact with the spiritual and natural realm. With it, we can become what we are seeing. If we use it correctly, our reality can become His (God’s) reality. What we see our Father doing becomes real.

The imagination allows us to move beyond time. It is the only thing other than your spirit that lives in two realms. The natural, which is affected by time, and the supernatural, which is outside of time. What is in your imagination becomes your reality. What you see in your mind has the power to shape what you do. It shapes your actions. The more you “see” light or darkness in your imagination, the more significant that power has over you. You become what you see.

Proverbs 23:7, “For as he thinks within himself, so he is.” Since our imaginations can shape so much of how we live, I believe,  we must sanctify our imagination and not let it become a tool for the enemy.”

Ways to Keep Your Imagination Clean

Remember, what goes into your soul the mouth will speak! What is hidden in your heart, the mouth will display its secrets.

Jesus said out of the heart the mouth speaks. It is our choice to fill our souls with light. Our inward temple must be filled with light. The power of the Holy Spirit is working inside us so that we may become more like Jesus in our hearts because our actions will follow. Our hearts are continually being regenerated into the glory of God.

2 Corinthians 3:17-18,  “Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as from the Lord, the Spirit.”

It is my conclusion, that if we can choose to agree with Holy Spirit’s power of transformation in our lives, then we can disagree with him and allow darkness to rule in our minds and spirit. Therefore, we must set our attention higher than this world. We must think about what is glorious.

Philippians 4:8, “Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things.”

We are all called to walk a life of holiness and purity in our thoughts. The imagination can guide your actions by the power of the Holy Spirit. Do not let darkness reign in your hearts. Paul prayed that we would be filled with the spirit of wisdom and revelation and that our hearts will be enlightened.

Ephesians 1:17-18, “That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you a spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of Him.  I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened so that you will know what is the hope of His calling…”

In the amplified bible, it says that you may be filled with revelatory light! His light from around the throne, may it strike your heart! That you may see Him in all the glory that He desires to show you! Jesus asked that we would see Him in the fullness of His glory in (John 17:24). The imagination is an easy tool for God to use when receiving revelation.

Romans 12:2, “Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind…”

What does it mean to renew? To renew our mind, we must not be molded into the patterns of this world. Your imagination must be set apart for Him. Mixing it with darkness will only result in a skewed filled imagination. Renewing your mind opens up room for God to speak to you in a greater capacity of dreams and visions.

So I ask you, What do you have your mind set on? What is your vision for your future? Where does your heart truly belong? The imagination is a bridge to achieving your greatest potential in life.

Choosing Light and Darkness

Sometimes we dislike the idea of things being black and white, but there is a need for that in the kingdom. Satan is in complete darkness, void of any form of light. What is in his “DNA” will only lead to death. What the enemy wants us to think is that we can live in grey areas that shouldn’t be and still be effective in the kingdom of God. Why does the enemy do this? Well, he is afraid of your power to choose. You can decide who has the upper hand when it comes to choosing light or darkness; you will always have the power to choose.

But what does it mean for me to choose light when it comes to my imagination? Every word that God has spoken over you, think on those things. Take a moment to reflect on the promises God has spoken over you. Choose by your will to set your mind on what He (God) likes! Anything void of His light is of the enemy. Remember you can choose by the act of your will, to think on things that are of the Father’s character or of the enemy’s character.

Activation Part 1: Take some time with the Father today and perform this exercise with your imagination. While you are with God, picture Him with your imagination. What does He look like to you! Take it slow, don’t move so quickly. With your mind, imagine the Father smiling at you. Did you know your greatest future is with Him? Your reward is Him. Rest, in looking at His face! Some will see His eyes; some will have only a feeling. Some will only see light. This is all the beginning of your reality shaping into His.

Activation Part 2: What areas of your imagination have you given to sin. It can be lust, unbelief, doubt, gossip, or pride. It can be anything that does not honor the Father. Ask Holy Spirit to help you renew your mind and take notes on what He reveals to you. Remember, your heart is being renewed all the time, and it is Holy Spirit’s enjoyment to make you more like Jesus.
