Eden took his hands and moved them in a circle speaking in an angelic tongue, then raised his hands above his head, summoning a shield of energy around us both. His intense glare aimed at something hidden before us–I couldn’t see it, only feel something large and powerful was before us. I touched the leather belt around his waist. My hands started to sweat.
“Eden?”
He answered firmly, “It is dangerous here. If I am not watchful of you, the seer will die here and never return. I would have failed my mission. I aim to ensure you see without harm coming to your body. Micah, there is an attack coming.” Eden’s hairy arms grew into white fur as an enormous roar came from him when he bent forward, changing into a massive bear! A twelve-foot bear with white and gold fur. His claws were silver. He paced back and forth inside the shield.
“Eden?” I knew something was unsafe as he only turns into a bear when he feels the threat is serious. He never calls me The Seer unless he is in tactical mode. “Eden?” I tried to soothe him, but he would not calm down. I let him be. I prayed to God for strength as the Vampires could smell us now. Thousands of them! Thousands of them chanted Molech’s name!
Claws, teeth, and torn bat wings with matted fur sprouted from the vampires as they cried out with deathly screeches. The Vampires hovered by the thousands circling the shield protecting us.
As a bear, Eden stood up, roaring again, “Which of you would like to find your way into my jaw? I will rip you all apart if you lay a hand on him. I have not tasted the blood of vampires before.”
I was shaking! Eden was terrifying.
Dust swirled before us with a howl and moan. Molech appeared and commanded the vampires to steady their assault.
“The Seer. The Prophet.” Molech called with amusement. He laughed, causing the clapping of human skulls on his belt buckle and necklace. His face was very much like a bull with two golden horns. He stood upright like a man and dressed in capes of gold and silver. But the very tip of them were dripping with blood. His eyes were bloodshot red! And attached to his belt was a book, made with the skulls of humans. His eyes followed my stare at his book, “These are the spells I’ve created…well with some help from Satan. These spells–rituals I give to those who want to summon my power. To summon me. These demons Satan and I formed with magic. Unlike those bastard spirits crying out for a home, these vampires do not. Here the Evergloom is their home. My realm. Each ritual of blood calls a vampire to enter the one who drinks and eats human flesh. I am Molech, the one who has been when the earth was young. I am he. I am he! It is Satan’s and my plan to ruin mankind and keep their way of violence. That life would no longer be a blessing…only death. Only death.”
Eden showed his teeth and drool fell to the ground. “We hate the spilling of blood.” Eden said, “We hate it. My brothers and sisters watched our own kind spill their blood when the traitor took my family and divided them. We watched our own bleed! We saw death. I know death.”
I shouted, “But there is blood more powerful than you! It ruined your kind, Molech! You suffer from defeat like the rest of you gods. I will not allow this! The prophets will see you! They will!” I held my hand out with authority and said, “In the name of Jesus. I summon the angels against you! I summon the voice of the prophets against you!”
A loud flash of lightning came…
