What you gaze upon in your life makes a difference in who and what you encounter. Jesus has always spoken to me out of Matthew 6:21-23.
“For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. The eye is the lamp of the body; so then if your eye is clear, your whole body will be full of light. But if your eyes are bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light that is in you is darkness, how great is the darkness!”
Matthew 6:21-23.
The eyes lead the body; vision grants encounter. Recently, in heaven, Jesus taught this subject to me. Follow me my dear friends into heaven:
When I walked into the very heart of God, I felt so much joy, this is my beginning, the place I was conceived among the Trinity. I was surrounded by all forms of light like millions of balls of fire floating all around me. There was a stream of light flowing over my feet that felt so smooth, like oil! It is tough for me to describe this powerful place of intimacy with the Lord. I heard beautiful music in the heart of God, He was singing about me by the ribbons of light that surrounded me. I looked up toward the sky in this dimension which resembled a blue ocean, the wonder here is so enchanting by light which comes from the heart of God. I could see that I was circled by hundreds of waterfalls which shined with multicolored dimensions, I wanted to know where they lead. All were entrances into creativity that God shows among the worlds by His mighty and powerful hand. He creates all things in the heavens and among the highest of heavens He sits enthroned above them all. I knelt down to play in the river I was standing in when Jesus appeared next to me.
Oh, My heart just melted when I saw those feet of such radiant light. I looked up into those beautiful blue eyes and joy hit me radically! I leaped into His arms of intense love for me. He laughed much–He is always smiling! Jesus is so beautiful; the light of kindness, love, and truth radiate from His being. He smells like joy! Yes, Joy has a smell and so does love! Love is rippling out from Him in a multi-colored fashion which holds you so close to Him. Jesus is so sweet to your heart, knowing every part of you…deeply! I held His hands and covered my face with them, which caused him to laugh.
“Hello, son! I am so glad you are here.” He placed His arms around me, “You see that mountain before you?”
I did not notice before because the light in the distance was intense. There was a clearing that appeared to show this enormous, mighty mountain with fire coming from it. A light was coming from it too, but it was shooting up into the air like a pillar which went up as far as I could see.
“Jesus, I did not see that, what is that mountain?”
Jesus smiled then began to guide me by the hand, “Zion Micah. The Holy Mountain of God, come with me.”
We walked together very closely. I was holding Jesus’ hand while leaning on His shoulder; He supported me and would not let me go. Jesus said to me, “The eyes are a treasure, Micah. Where have you placed your vision? The eyes were made to encounter, and they will encounter light or darkness. Where have you placed them? Did you know that the eyes lead the body? Yes, even the eyes can lead the body into darkness. Darkness is lust, deception, envy, greed, the ways of the world. If you hide your eyes in the dark, your heart will treasure these places. In secret, they will be filled with darkness, so tell me, child, where are you hiding your eyes? Are they in light or darkness?”
I thought about meditation when He said this. How often do I place His light before my eyes? It is true, our eyes were made to behold beauty. I waste them away on such sinful pleasure of this world. “Lord, I am sorry. I have sinned again. I do not hide them in your light.” I felt sorrow. So many times, I rest my vision on my old sinful nature: resentment, bitterness, lust for power and fame. My eyes rest on worldly things…which produce darkness in me. “Lord forgive me…” I cried out.
He kissed my head, “You know I have forgiven you, Micah. Listen to me, beware of the prideful eye Micah, they lead your heart in such sin–ways of the wicked are led by pride. Keep your eyes on my word, keep your eyes in light Micah. Light enters when you hide My commands in your heart…if you do this, my glory will be the joy in your heart. The light will be in you and around you and darkness will flee from you. How often have you been careless with your eyes?”
Proverbs 21:4, “Haughty eyes and a proud heart, The lamp of the wicked, is sin.”
Psalm 19:8, “The precepts of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart; The commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes.”
I lifted my head up, suddenly I did not feel like leaning on Him. His words were bringing such fire to my spirit. I thought I was doing a good job at this. I looked at Jesus, and He looked back at me with such love, but Something was hurting Him, “Jesus I have hurt your feelings haven’t I?”
He looked away and sighed, “Micah, I want to be your source of pleasure. You have given your eyes to such worthless things. You see that mountain?” He directed my attention to the mountain again, “That is the place of knowing God. Blessed are the pure in heart for they shall “see” God. Who shall ascend into the hill of the Lord?”
“He who has clean hands and a pure heart,” I added. Jesus nodded His head and then looked on.
He asked me, “Micah what is in your heart; what is hidden in your secret place? The eyes are the entryway to encounter. If the eyes, behold darkness, death and destruction will be a result. If they are in the light, the Godhead will dwell among you! You will have a clear vision to climb the mountain. “He turned to me, “Am I your one thing?”
Psalm 24:3-4, “Who may ascend into the hill of the Lord? And who may stand in His holy place? He who has clean hands and a pure heart, who has not lifted up his soul to falsehood and has not sworn deceitfully.”
Psalm 27:4 “One thing I have asked from the Lord, that I shall seek: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord and to meditate in His temple.”
I felt such the weight of Jesus’ words, “I need my vision to be clear, Jesus. How do I do this?”
We continued our walk towards the mountain, and He said, “Set your mind on things above and leave the pleasures of the world behind. It is ok Micah to leave things behind. Look towards the kingdom of light! Look into the face of my Father who loves you with an everlasting love. Listen with your heart Micah.”
It is ok to leave things behind… This is the key to beholding the beauty of God. What you behold in secret leads you into encounter. The secret place is your heart. The question is where you have set your eyes? It is time to clean our vision…
Colossians 3:1-3, “Therefore if you have been raised up with Christ, keep seeking the things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God.Set your mind on the things above, not on the things that are on earth. For you have died and your life is hidden with Christ in God.”
Ephesians 1:17-19, “That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you a spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of Him. I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened, so that you will know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, and what is the surpassing greatness of His power toward us who believe. These are in accordance with the working of the strength of His might.”
